About Grayslake Campus

Buildings on the campus have been gradually constructed over the years with careful planning to offer students a rich and stimulating academic experience. Most of the buildings are connected, but a few, such as the gymnasium (Building 7) and the Illinois Employment and Training Center, stand alone.

Among the major features of the campus:

A. Harold Anderson Campus Wing(A Wing), completed in 1974. This wing contains classrooms and faculty offices and currently houses the Social Science Division office (A 244, second floor). The A Wing also includes a court area for student use for study and socializing.

Paul W. Brandel Campus Wing(乙部),亦于1974年落成。这个侧翼包括教室和教师办公室,目前设有传播艺术、美术和人文办公室(B 237,二楼)。B翼还包括计算机实验室和一个供学生学习和社交的场地。

Learning Resource Center, completed in 1980. The Learning Resource Center serves as the cultural center of the college and includes the library and audio-visual collection, Learning Assistance Center and Robert T. Wright Community Gallery of Art. The John C. Murphy Memorial Library offers a collection of more than 125,000 books and 675 periodicals, and the Audio-Visual Center contains an extensive collection of audio and videocassettes, DVDs and CDs. Directly supporting classroom instruction, the Learning Assistance Center provides tutoring and testing services. The Robert T. Wright Community Gallery of Art serves as a venue for important exhibits and events throughout the year.

Physical Education Building(Building 7), completed in 1971, gymnasium added in 1980. This building houses physical education, intramural and inter-collegiate athletic activities and features a gym, indoor running track, weight room and Fitness Center. Outdoor facilities consist of tennis courts, a running/walking track and baseball and soccer fields.

Science/Student Services Wing(C Wing), completed in 1987. This module houses facilities for the biology, chemistry, health information technology and medical imaging programs. Also located in this wing are the Biological and Health Sciences Division office (C 140, first floor) and student service areas including the Counseling Center (C110) and Student Activities Office (C101).

Multi-Use Instructional Building(D Wing), completed in 1996. The Multi-Use Instructional Building is known on campus as the D Wing. It houses the Childrens Learning Center and classrooms and faculty offices for the art, nursing education, multimedia and human services programs.

The Technology Building(T), completed in 2005, is a state-of-the art facility that houses the Business and the Engineering, Math and Physical Sciences Divisions in room T102. It is connected to the A Wing and the LRC Atrium wings via indoor walkways. The building has three floors plus a basement, including 40 classrooms and computer laboratories, 18 discipline-specific laboratories and 27 faculty and administrative offices for programs in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning, Automotive Technology, Computer-Assisted Design and Drafting, Computer Numerical Control Programming, Electronics/Electrical Technology, Accounting, Computer Information Systems and Administrative Management and Technology.

The third floor of the Technology Building is home to theWorkforce and Professional Development Institute, which offers consulting and training programs for individuals and businesses, government and non-profit organizations who seek to improve their organizational effectiveness and professional skills. It does so through five entities:Client Solutions,Continuing Professional Development,Illinois Small Business Development Center, Illinois Procurement Tech. Assistance Center andJudicial Services.

The James Lumber Center for the Performing Arts(JLC), completed in 1997. The JLC houses CLC's instructional programs in music, dance and theatre and serves as a venue for performing and cultural arts programming serving the entire community. The facility includes three theatres: a 600-seat Mainstage Theatre used for music concerts and other major events, a 250-seat Studio Theatre used for most other productions and a smaller Experimental Theatre used for student productions and classes. The JLC also includes practice areas for dance, choir and instrumental students as well as classrooms and faculty offices.

E Buildingprovides facilities for the Lake County Regional Superintendent and CLC's Career and Placement Services office.
