Program Mission

The Health Information Technology (HIT) program of the College of Lake County is dedicated to the primary mission of meeting the educational needs of the diverse community we serve who desire to enter the Health Information Management profession delivering high quality, accessible learning opportunities to advance student success. In addition, the program is dedicated to meeting the needs and expectations of the healthcare community of Lake County for well-trained, competent Health Information Technicians.

Program Accreditation

The Health Information Management accreditor of College of Lake County is the Commission on Accreditation for Health Informatics and Information Management Education (CAHIIM). The College’s accreditation for the Associate degree in Health Information Management has been reaffirmed through 2027-2028. CLC’s Health Information Technology program student outcomes for 2019 - 2020:

Graduation Rate: 85% of graduates completed the program within 150% of expected time frame.

Employment Rate: 100% of graduates actively seeking employment in healthcare were employed within seven months of graduation.

Satisfaction Rate: 100% of graduates agreed or strongly agreed that their overall academic experience with the HIT Program met their expectations.
