What will you study?

CLC’s English department hosts a range of transferable courses, including composition, creative writing, journalism, literature, and technical writing. The work completed in these courses helps develop a wide range of skills and abilities:

  • Write more persuasively, expressively and dynamically
  • Read with more depth
  • Communicate ideas in clear language
  • Think critically and independently

Many opportunities outside the classroom also help students develop these critical skills and further develop their passion for reading and writing:

In or outside the classroom, the goal of the English Department is to provide students with opportunities to develop their reading, writing, researching, and thinking abilities to transfer to a university, find a job, excel in their career, and enrich their everyday lives.
