If you plan to major inEngineeringorComputer Scienceat the College of Lake County with the intent to transfer to a four-year university to obtain a bachelor's degree, you may be eligible to receive a scholarship under the NSF Engineering and Computer Science Scholar Program.
The Building an Academic Community of Engineering Scholars program is an initiative funded by a grant from the National Science Foundation (NSF). Up to 25 students will be admitted into the prestigious program each year. NSF Scholars will receive scholarships of up to $8,000. Other federal financial aid will bring the full amount scholars may receive up to as much as $10,000 per year.

National Science Foundation (NSF) Scholarships
If you plan to major in Engineering or Computer Science at the College of Lake County with the intent to transfer to a four-year university, you may be eligible to receive a scholarship under the NSF Engineering and Computer Science Scholar Program.
Eligibility
High school seniors and current CLC students are eligible to apply for the program. This program is for students whose degree objective is a Bachelors of Science. To be considered, applicants must:
- demonstrate financial need, according to federal guidelines (www.fafsa.gov).
- be U.S. citizens, refugees or permanent residents.
- be enrolled full-time (at least 12 credit hours) with a major in engineering or computer science.

Maintaining the Scholarship
Once accepted into the program, scholarships are awarded each semester to students who:
- continue to meet the eligibility requirements above.
- meet Academic Standards for Financial Aid Recipients as defined in theCLC Catalogand maintain a 2.5 GPA.

Submission Deadlines and Awards
Awards are made by a committee of CLC faculty based on academic potential, financial need and demonstrated commitment to academic goals. Members of underrepresented groups such as minorities or women are encouraged to apply.任何时候都可以接受申请，但8月1日之前收到的申请将获得秋季学期的优先录取权，11月30日之前收到的申请将获得春季学期的优先录取权。
The deadline for the fall semester 2022 is September 2, 2022.
How to Apply
- Apply to be a student at CLC.

- Complete the FASFA for the 2022-23 school year (College of Lake County's Federal School Code is 007694)
- Sign in with your student login athttps://clcillinois.academicworks.com
- Fill out the general scholarship application.
- Go to the “Opportunities” menu at the top left corner. Under “Ours”, search for “National Science Foundation Scholarship”. Click the green “Apply” button and answer all additional questions and submit.
Note: if you do not meet requirements of scholarship, then you won’t be able to view the National Science Foundation scholarship opportunity. For example: The National Science Foundation Scholarship requires full time enrollment, but if you indicated in your general scholarship application that you intend to enroll only in 6 hours, you will not be presented the opportunity unless you can commit to 12 hours enrollment. Update your general application as needed.
