This program trains undergraduate students in archaeological field and laboratory methods through their participation in an ongoing research project. Completion of this training from an accredited school is required for the vast majority of entry-level job positions in anthropology. In the field, students will learn how to make conduct archaeological survey, record sites, make accurate plan maps, lay out excavation units, excavate scientifically, and maintain appropriate documentation. In the laboratory, students will learn how to curate, classify and catalogue archaeological artifacts, and prepare formal research reports.
