About the Program

Get hands-on training using the most current industry equipment in our mechatronics/robotics lab in the Science and Engineering building, which opened in 2018 at the Grayslake Campus. We also expanded to offer evening courses in our new mechatronics/robotics lab at the Lakeshore Campus which opened in 2019. Courses cover high-tech manufacturing, automation, robot design and construction, mechanical and electrical systems, pneumatics and hydraulics.

The Mechatronics program requires students to be full time each semester, classes are offered Monday to Thursday. The certificate will be completed in less than one year or in two semesters. In our program, you will:

  • Receive excellent preparation for future job opportunities.
  • Be prepared for industry certifications
  • Receive hands-on training using current industry equipment.

Classes available at the Grayslake Campus during the day or at the Lakeshore Campus in the evening

With funding from a U.S. Department of Labor Trade Adjustment Act (TAA) grant, the College of Lake County has developed a state-of-the-art, 30-credit-hour certificate program to prepare students to become in-demand mechatronics technicians. Mechatronics technicians help design, install, maintain and repair industrial equipment and a wide array of appliances used in business.
