About the Program

This program offers an Associate in Applied Science degree and two certificate options to prepare graduates for careers providing emergency medical care. All EMT courses are held at area hospitals or fire and rescue departments. General education course requirements for the degree are offered at CLC locations.

The goal of our program is to prepare competent entry level Paramedics in the cognitive (knowledge), psychomotor (skills), and affective (behavior) learning domains with or without exit points at the EMT-Intermediate, and/or EMT-Basic and/or First Responder Level.

湖区学院有四个辅助医疗项目:Vista健康的北湖县医疗EMS项目、北岸高地公园医院医疗EMS项目、西北医学湖森林医院和倡导健康系统康德尔医疗中心(CMC)医疗EMS项目。Vista, Highland Park Hospital and Condell Medical Center are currently accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (www.caahep.org); Northwestern Medicine Lake Forest Hospital is in the application stage.

Candidates seeking the paramedic license through our partner hospitals will need to have a valid and current EMT-B or EMT-I Illinois license, and meet all other program prerequisites.
