What inspires me about my field:I love helping people to turn their lives around and become the people they strive to be. The ability to work with a diverse group of clients over the course of my career continually kept me on my toes and continued to educate me about people long after I finished my degree. The perseverance of the human spirit, the ability to overcome unthinkable challenges--I saw those traits in my clients, and I see them in my students now. Helping put those students in a position to make a difference in others' lives--that's what makes my job so rewarding.

What inspires me about my field:I am inspired by helping others to achieve their fullest potential as I believe there is something unique and special about all human beings. Though individuals have different skills and levels of intelligence, I think everyone is great at something, and it is the discovery of that “something” that makes us all better people. The health and human services field gives us professionals the distinctive opportunity to help individuals discover their talent and place in the world.
