Meet the Professors

Bill Kellerhals

Teaching full time at CLC since:2012; previously taught for seven years as a CLC adjunct. He also taught engineering, navigation and weapons systems courses at Northwestern University and Illinois Institute of Technology. Professor Kellerhals also taught laser operation and maintenance courses to technicians and customers in the coding and marking industry. He was trained as a nuclear engineer and served in three submarines during 23 years in the U.S. Navy.

Subjects taught at CLC:Applied mathematics, basic algebra, geometry, fundamentals of light and lasers, photonics, fundamentals of AC and DC circuits.

Education:B.A. and M.E.M., Northwestern University.

Main goal in teaching:我努力激发学生的求知欲和对所有涉及光的事物如何实际工作的渴望。学生们积极参与实践,动手练习和项目,以促进更深层次的理解和记忆。我保持一个开放的,有疑问的环境,鼓励所有合理的实验。此外,我将现实世界的经验和实际生活技能与主题材料交织在一起。每天都有机会加强领导力、团队合作和责任感。
