Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act (CRRSAA) Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund (HEERF) II Reporting

College of Lake County received federal funds to provide eligible students emergency financial aid grants for expenses related to the disruption of campus operations due to the COVID-19 crisis. The following information is required by the Department of Education in order to comply with the reporting requirements under the Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund II.

  1. Total Amount of Funds

    College of Lake County received a total amount of $11,539,049 from CRRSAA HEERF II. $2,486,521 is specifically designated as emergency financial aid grants to students.

    The College of Lake County also received $655,990 under the Developing Hispanic-serving Institution CARES Act allocation.

    As of April 8, 2022, $4,984,533.05 in emergency financial aid grants have been distributed to students.

    The estimated total number of students at the institution eligible to receive Emergency Financial Aid Grants to students under Section 314 (a)(1), (a)(4) HEERF II (CRRSAA).

    • Enrolled in the spring 2020, summer 2020 OR fall 2020, spring 2021, summer 2021 OR fall 2021 terms in a PCS 1.1 Baccalaureate/Transfer, PCS 1.2 Occupational/Technical, PCS 1.4 remedial/developmental, PCS 1.6 vocational, PCS 1.7, 1.8 or 1.9 adult education course

  4. Total number of students who have received an Emergency Financial Aid Grant

    The total number of students who have received an Emergency Financial Aid Grant to students under Section 314 (a)(1), (a)(4) HEERF II (CRRSAA).

    As of April 8, 2022, emergency financial aid grants have been distributed to 3,954 students.

  5. Method(s) used by the institution to determine which students receive Emergency Financial Aid Grants

    College of Lake County established two categories based on EFC brackets for automatic distribution of funds, prioritizing funding for those with greatest financial need.

    An application is available for students to request additional emergency financial assistance. Students are awarded based on expressed need and enrollment level.

    Any instructions, directions, or guidance provided by the institution to students concerning the HEERF II funds. The method(s) used by the institution to determine which students receive HEERF II funds and how much they would receive under Section 314 (a)(1), (a)(4) HEERF II (CRRSAA).

    As of April 27, 2021, eligible enrolled students with 2020-2021 FAFSAs received an email announcing a possible award and encouraging them to confirm their direct deposit account and address information on file. As of April 28, 2021, eligible students were informed of their auto-awards via email from the financial aid department. College of Lake County sent emails to all students and employees notifying them of the CRRSAA emergency financial aid grants on April 30, 2021.Read the email here.
