COVID-19 Update for Students - May 12, 2022

CLC Community,

COVID-19和其他病毒的高传染性亚变种以及季节性过敏继续在莱克县的社区中传播,包括CLC。As a result, the Emergency Operations Team (EOT) offers the following reminders:

Stay home if you are feeling ill: Please consider your personal health status before coming to campus. COVID-19, other viruses, and allergy symptoms affect each individual differently; symptoms may be similar and range from mild to severe. If you have two or more symptoms listed below, please stay home and contact the COVID Concerns Team (847-543-2064, emailCOVID19Concerns@clcillinois.edu) to connect with someone to help determine if you may be experiencing COVID-19.

  • Temperature of 100.4 (or greater) degrees Fahrenheit/38 degrees Celsius
  • Cough
  • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
  • Chills
  • Fatigue
  • Muscle and body aches
  • Headache
  • Sore throat
  • New loss of taste or smell
  • Congestion or runny nose
  • Nausea and/or vomiting
  • Diarrhea

To Report Symptoms, a Positive Test Result, or "Close Contact" Exposure

  • You are encouraged to contact your primary care provider.
  • You are required to contact the Health Center – COVID Concerns (847-543-2064,COVID19Concerns@clcillinois.edu).
  • Health Center response will generally occur within 12 hours during the standard College schedule.
  • CDC definition of “close contact”: Someone who was within 6 feet of a confirmed infected person for a cumulative total of 15 minutes or more over a 24-hour period.

Protocol for Quarantine related to COVID-19

    • Individuals will quarantine at home for an appropriate period (typically, 5 days) as advised by the Health Center staff based on standard quarantines guidelines.
    • The decision for quarantine or isolation is at the discretion of the health professionals on CLC’s COVID Concerns Team.

Medium Community Level designation:The Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) has designatedLake County as Medium Community Level. A note from the IDPH website: “At all levels, people can wear a mask based on personal preference, informed by personal level of risk. People with symptoms, a positive test or exposure to someone with COVID-19 should wear a mask.”

On-campus classes and events: CLC is following guidelines for medium risk, summarized here:

  • Physical distancing is recommended, especially if food is served or available.

校园测试:The Shield Testing Center is open Mondays (12-3 pm) and Thursdays (8:30-11:30 am) through June 30 in Room C106, Grayslake Campus. Links for other testing options and vaccination options in the community can be found on theCLC COVID-19 updates webpage.
